      GENE CANTRELL'S BIBLE CLASS

We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30 in a classroom in the east wing of the church.  Our Class has studied God's Holy Word from Genesis to Revelation since we started over a quarter of a century ago.  We normally study one book at a time, rather than to bring in verses from other books.

We are currently studying the book of John.

Jesus says to us: "Come unto me and I will give you rest.  My burdens are light."

CHIME CHOIR

DIRECTOR

Melba Cordell

The Chime Choir, jestingly referred to as the “Ding-a-Lings” by the adoring husband of one of the chimers, performs for church services many times during the year and always for special occasions.

The chimes, which resemble large tuning forks, were originally purchased by the church for the use of our young people, and we had a group of youthful players for several years.   Steady attendance at rehearsals is a must, however, and when it became evident that the teenagers with many after-school activities had difficulty keeping up with rehearsals, the adults took over.

The Chime Choir rehearses each Sunday following worship services.  As there now are three octaves of chimes, new chimers would be most welcome.

CHANCEL CHOIR

Director of Music

Ron Whaley

The Chancel Choir sings at worship services throughout the year, except for summertime, when the choir takes a short vacation.

The Chancel Choir rehearses each Sunday morning at 9:30, and Wednesday evenings at 7:00.  Of course new members are always welcome.  Enough musical training to enable reading of music is quite desirable, but one needs only enough vocal skill to "make a joyful noise" to participate effectively.
